  • Dr. Kolla graduated from the University of Saskatchewan's Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1979. He joined Westbrook a few years later, and became the proud owner in 1993. Dr. Kolla's dedication is evident in his lasting relationships with countless Westbrook clients and their families. Outside of his practice, he enjoys spending time at the lake with his wife, Carol, and making memories with their grandchildren. Dr. Kolla is also a dedicated mentor for students studying Veterinary Medicine, and is often sought-out for his expertise.

  • Dr. Kerem Karaton is a dedicated veterinarian, with a rich background that spans continents and specialties. Originally from Turkey, Dr. Karaton earned his veterinary degree from a prestigious institution in his home country, laying a strong foundation for a career in Canada. With a particular passion for soft tissue surgeries and orthopaedics, Dr. Karaton has distinguished himself in the field of veterinary medicine through his meticulous skill and compassionate approach. 

    When he’s not in the clinic, Dr. Karaton is at the gym, snowboarding, or skating! He has a keen interest in fitness and nutrition, which complements his overall approach to health and wellness.

  • Dr. Krawchuk earned her veterinary degree from UCVM in 2026. She believes that every veterinary visit should be a positive experience and takes a Fear Free approach to care, ensuring pets feel comfortable and safe in the exam room. She has a special passion for feline and exotic medicine, enjoying the unique care and attention that cats, reptiles, and pocket pets require.

    At home, Dr. Krawchuk shares her life with her husband, their two cats, and a collection of reptiles. Her puppy, Rosie, comes to work with her every day and loves greeting people around the clinic.

    When she isn't caring for patients, Dr. Krawchuk enjoys unwinding with a good book, crocheting, baking, doing puzzles, or getting active in the pool.

  • Dr. Ava Ostad graduated from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Scotland, where she gained valuable experience in veterinary medicine and had the opportunity to learn in a state-of-the-art veterinary specialty teaching hospital. Before moving to Scotland, she attended the University of Alberta, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Animal Health.

    Dr. Ostad is passionate about providing compassionate care, taking the time to listen to pet owners, understand their concerns, and work together to make the best decisions with each pet’s best interests at heart. Her special interests include internal medicine, ophthalmology, and dermatology, and she enjoys working through cases to help pets feel their best.

    Outside of the clinic, Dr. Ostad enjoys photography, playing the piano, and figure skating. She also loves spending time with her cockapoo, Caspian! Some of her favourite things about Scotland were the beautiful Highland cows and, of course, all the sheep! If you see her around the clinic, feel free to say hello and share your favourite travel adventures or Scottish stories.

    CLINIC MANAGER

    Jessie is committed to ensuring Westbrook exceeds your expectations - she's been our hospital administrator for nearly 30 years! She and her husband Duane, are avid golfers and world travelers. They have two sons, two daughters-in-law, and five grandchildren!

    CAROL KOLLA

    ADMINISTRATOR

    Carol met Dr. Kolla while attending the University of Saskatchewan, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Ecology. She enjoys spending time at the lake with their grandchildren, and grand-pets!

    HEAD RVT

    Gayle is a graduate of NAIT's Animal Health Technology and member of the Westbrook family since 2002. When she's not tending to her sled team of five Pomeranians, she's having fun as a grandma to her two grand-babies! She's also a motorcycle enthusiast and pianist.

    KRISTINA BILOUS

    VETERINARY ASSISTANT

    Kristina comes to us from Ukraine where she was a technician for a little over a year. She is currently a student at Penn Foster College where she is working toward her Canadian Vet Tech certification. Kristina also enjoys travelling and her dream vacation is to visit Japan. She's fur mama to the cutest Corgi named Bailey!

    BROOKE McCANN

    VETERINARY ASSISTANT

    Brooke is a graduate of NAIT’s 2025 Veterinary Medical Assistant program. She shares her home with her miniature Dachshund, Sunny (pictured), and hopes to add more Dachshunds to the family one day. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, travelling, and hopes to one day explore Australia and its incredible wildlife.

    Aimee Mihalcheon is Westbrook’s certified dog lover! In her spare time you’ll find Aimee spending time playing with her two dogs (Diesel and Millie) and her rabbit named Thumper. She is also our certified hockey fan - her favourite team is the Oilers!

    Catherine brings more than 10 years of boarding and doggy day care experience to Westbrook. In her spare time she enjoys going hiking and spending time with her family. She has 2 dogs named Cooper and Lyra.

    Originally from Lloydminster, Kiera is a proud cat mom to her two cats, Potter and Karma. When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll find her spending time with her pets, relaxing with a good book, or enjoying time with friends and family. Kiera also loves a good rodeo whenever she gets the chance! She’s hoping to one day adopt a dog into her beautiful family!
