  • Dr. Kolla graduated from the University of Saskatchewan's Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1979. He joined Westbrook a few years later, and became the proud owner in 1993. Dr. Kolla's dedication is evident in his lasting relationships with countless Westbrook clients and their families. Outside of his practice, he enjoys spending time at the lake with his wife, Carol, and making memories with their grandchildren. Dr. Kolla is also a dedicated mentor for students studying Veterinary Medicine, and is often sought-out for his expertise.

  • Dr. Deng grew up in an agricultural community in South Sudan, and from a very young age learned to care for animals. He moved to Egypt where he graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Zagazig. Dr. Deng is now a licensed veterinarian in Canada with a passion for small animal medicine and surgery. In his free time, Dr. Deng enjoys running and listening to music - he's also a salsa dancer and active volunteer in the community.

  • Dr. Kerem Karaton is a dedicated veterinarian, with a rich background that spans continents and specialties. Originally from Turkey, Dr. Karaton earned his veterinary degree from a prestigious institution in his home country, laying a strong foundation for a career in Canada. With a particular passion for soft tissue surgeries and orthopaedics, Dr. Karaton has distinguished himself in the field of veterinary medicine through his meticulous skill and compassionate approach. 

    When he’s not in the clinic, Dr. Karaton is at the gym, snowboarding, or skating! He has a keen interest in fitness and nutrition, which complements his overall approach to health and wellness.

    JESSIE MILNER

    CLINIC MANAGER

    Jessie is committed to ensuring Westbrook exceeds your expectations - she's been our hospital administrator for nearly 30 years! She and her husband Duane, are avid golfers and world travelers. They have two sons, two daughters-in-law, and five grandchildren!

    CAROL KOLLA

    ADMINISTRATOR

    Carol met Dr. Kolla while attending the University of Saskatchewan, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Ecology. She enjoys spending time at the lake with their grandchildren, and grand-pets!

    GAYLE BENDALL

    HEAD RVT

    Gayle is a graduate of NAIT's Animal Health Technology and member of the Westbrook family since 2002. When she's not tending to her sled team of five Pomeranians, she's having fun as a grandma to her two grand-babies! She's also a motorcycle enthusiast and pianist.

    ALEXA MATTHEWS

    CUSTOMER SERVICE

    Alexa Matthews is our resident crazy cat lady! She has 3 cats at home - Mindy, Molly and Maggie. She is currently in school to become a veterinary technician (RVT) through TRU University. In her free time, Alexa works out and is a powerlifter for Team Canada. She has won many awards worldwide.

    KRISTINA BILOUS

    VETERINARY ASSISTANT

    Kristina comes to us from Ukraine where she was a technician for a little over a year. She is currently a student at Penn Foster College where she is working toward her Canadian Vet Tech certification. Kristina also enjoys travelling and her dream vacation is to visit Japan. She's fur mama to the cutest Corgi named Bailey!

    BROOKE McCANN

    VETERINARY ASSISTANT

    Brooke is a recent graduate of NAIT's Veterinary Medical Assistant program. Born in Edmonton and a lifelong Oilers fan, she shares her home with two dogs and three cats - earning her the nickname "The One Who Owns A Zoo." In her spare time she enjoys hiking and visiting her childhood best friend in BC.

    Aimee Mihalcheon

    CUSTOMER SERVICE

    Aimee Mihalcheon is Westbrook’s certified dog lover! In her spare time you’ll find Aimee spending time playing with her two dogs (Diesel and Millie) and her rabbit named Thumper. She is also our certified hockey fan - her favourite team is the Oilers! Her goal is to become an RVT.

    KENNEL ATTENDANT

    Catherine comes to Westbrook with over 10 years of boarding and doggy day care experience. In her free time she enjoys curling and going to dog shows. She loves travelling and her favourite place to visit is British Columbia. She has 2 dogs named Cooper and Chelsea.
